1. Entertainment and Interpretation
The employees must know how to communicate the available
resources to customers, in order to apply them to the activity.
Interpretation is a process designed to reveal meanings
and relationships of our culture and natural heritage to
visitors, through first hand experiences with objects, landscape,
sites and artifacts.
Interpretation is the art to communicate.
Why interpretation is necessary:
- It is a commitment to providing uncompromising quality
for the visitors experience.
- Interpretation makes the sites come to life for the visitors
- Interpretation provides added value to any heritage tourist
experience, and heritage site marketing efforts.
- Interpretation is the reason visitors come back to heritage
sites.
- You cannot have heritage tourism without interpretation
- Interpretative programs and services can make money
2. Local Culture
Human resources must have Knowledge and the ability to communicate
the next:
- Principal historical characteristic of the territory
- Needs to know the regions cuisine: products, food,
typical dishes, etc.
- Typical legend and history
- Main tourist activities, that are related to the cultural
and artistic resources of the destination.
3. Nature Resources
It essential, that Human Resources know:
- The most attractive natural sites for the tourists to
visit.
- Identification of the natural landscape, as well as, the
man made landscape of interest.
- Relationship between natural resources and local culture
of the region.
- Local activities offered in the natural resources of the
region.
4. English Knowledge
Human Resources need to have certain knowledge of English
in these areas:
- Technical English: Basic concepts for the tourism industry.
- Have the necessary level of English to understand and
attend the guest.
5. Knowledge of
the other destinations included in the RTE project
The personnel of the different establishment of the sub
sector must have the next knowledge of the other
RTE destinations:
- Main structures, installations and equipments.
- Culture, cuisine and craftsmanship.
- Natural resources
- General information: access, languages, climate, currency,
etc.
- Cultural and Natural activities. |
